What is Reiki?
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
In my own words, it can be assimilated to the way prayer helps so many people. Reiki treats the whole person including the body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, pain reduction and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Reiki is now being found in hospitals, including Boston’s Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Winchester Hospital.
What happens during a treatment?
Usually you will lay down and remain fully dressed while the practitioner will gently lay their hands over many energy fields that run up and down your spine including your feet for grounding. What they are doing is sending positive intention to whatever area in your life is calling for it. They may also draw or recite the images of the Reiki symbols in their mind . You may feel them making the Reiki symbols over you or in the palms of your hands and or souls of your feet.
Some practitioners incorporate the use of certain crystals during a treatment. Sometimes crystals may be used during a session to increase the energy, such as clear quartz which helps aid in healing.

If your body and mind are in need of deep relaxation and tranquility, then this is the treatment for you. Enjoy gentle back, scalp, face, neck, shoulder and foot treatment as your stress melts away. Performed by one of our Estheticians. You remain completely and professionally covered during this treatment. (Please note this is not considered a deep massage and is not performed by a massage therapist.)

Total Tranquility: Reiki is administered during your Tranquility Session while you experience stillness of your mind and body leaving you and more balanced and sometimes re-energized. Crystals and massage oils are used during this treatment. You remain completely and professionally covered during this treatment. Clients have described this treatment as more, “spiritual”, more nurturing than just a massage.
